Miniature Railway

The 7 1/4 inch (or 184 mm) railway travels through the museum picnic grounds in a bushland setting. The miniature railway was introduced using the petrol locomotive and carriages, pictured below.

Tilly

After the railway's successful introduction at the Albion Park site, a larger locomotive was built, being "Strathalbyn II". This diesel locomotive is now the main locomotive used on our running days.

Strathalbyn II

We are able to run two trains during busy days using both locomotives with our current fleet of five carriages. The society is completing a steam locomotive and restoring a similar steam locomotive for this ride, which will become another attraction at the Museum.

As a safety requirement, persons wishing to travel on this ride must wear enclosed footwear
