Location

The museum is located at 48a Tongarra Road, Albion Park Rail on the Southern side of the Illawarra regional airport. The museum is a 100 km drive south of Sydney and a 20 minute drive south of Wollongong. 

Entry into the museum grounds is free which includes free usage of the picnic grounds with wood fired bbq’s and child’s play areas. Parking is available inside the museum grounds.

Transport

The museum site is a short walk from the Albion Park Rail railway station. A bus service is also available from near the museum site.

Collections

The ILRMS has collected narrow gauge Steam & Diesel Locomotives, rolling stock and other items from Australia’s Industrial Railways; including the Sugar Cane Industry, Coal Mines, Blue Metal and other Tramways.
